Local
Open every week since 1998, the Firehouse Swing Dance is where the magic happens. It’s located in the quaint area of North Park, where there is street parking and many nearby restaurants. Every Wednesday, Firehouse features lessons at 7:30PM, with live and DJ music from 8:30PM-11:45PM. Students can sign up for progressive beginning swing and lindy hop at the beginning of every month, where they can build upon existing material from the prior week. They also feature student discounts and monthly group class packages for a better value. Go check them out!
Blue Note
Blue Note is monthly Saturday venue specializing in traditional blues music with an emphasis in teaching vernacular jazz movement. They were established in March 2016, and they continue to grow the blues dance scene with excellent instructors and music. They offer drop in lessons starting at 8:00PM, followed by dancing until midnight. In addition, they actively strengthen the technical skill of the scene by offering group practices on Mondays. Lindy Groove
Lindy Groove has been around the Los Angeles and Orange County dance scene since 2001. They are located in the Pasadena Masonic temple, with an impressive interior design and several ballroom floors. They are beginner friendly, with drop in classes and progressive classes starting at 7:30PM. It is also a good place to celebrate birthdays, with their amazing birthday deal packages.

Out of Town Blues and Fusion Events
Angel City Fusion is a dance event for fusion enthusiasts and for the curious. Their complimentary drop-in class at 9PM is taught by impressive instructors from various dance backgrounds: ballroom, latin, swing, etc that builds the vocabulary necessary for both beginners of Fusion and for veterans who want more material.
They have two rooms, each with a dedicated DJ and a style of music that embraces the dancers’ creativity. They also offer complimentary bottled water and snacks, and there is plenty of parking in the lots and along the streets. Go check out their next event!
